From makeshift table top to airing cupboard door.

The piece of MDF that we used as a table top for our murder mystery door was transformed today into the airing cupboard door for the top of the stairs.  Whilst I was out on the road G had the day off from police work and worked had to create an airing cupboard door out of the the MDF.  It was a tricky job and took most of the day to complete.  All the doors in the house are oak and made in a certain style - G wanted  keep the door looking like the other doors however because of the sloping ceiling he was unable to buy one off the shelf to fit.

In order to achieve the right look first he cut the door to size then he used the router which can create groves in the wood so that it would match the look of the other doors.  Unlike the other doors this one will be painted white.  The photo shows the door - I was very impressed when I came home.

Tonight we cooked another Jamie Oliver 30 minute meal creation of Asian Style salmon on a broth of noodles and beansprout and mango salad but it was way too hot and our mouths are still cooling down.  G is still cooling his mouth down with wine.

  1. The door looks GREAT! I'm really impressed! It's funny it was a table top and now it's a door :) You guys are doing such a wonderful job. :) Hope work is going well for both of you!
